Literature Text

There we were once again, trapped in each other's stare, bound by the passion and temptation that flowed between us. After an eternity, the heat was still there. The way my heart leapt in my chest whenever she graced my senses with her presence was still the same. My tongue danced behind my smile, yearning to taste what I still had not been able to taste. The only difference was that we were no longer captive by the boundaries that once held us. Our paths fatefully crossed if only for us to experience one moment together that we would never forget.

Her alluring expression held my attention, making me wonder what thoughts rested behind her chestnut eyes. What was she feeling? Was she nervous like me? The silence mocked us. Every movement we made was closer to each other, mirrored by the sound of my heartbeat reverberating off my bones. The intensity of the sound that only I could hear in my ears increased with every step I took toward her until we were only inches apart. It seemed as though my heart would cease to work if I went any closer. That was when her hand found mine.

Our fingers laced together as though mimicking everything we were never able to do. This was the moment, the climax, the finale. Our words and our actions built up to this; and it was going to be extraordinary. I pulled her to me, anxious to feel her body warmth against mine, longing to feel if her heart was dancing to the music that mine created. The ballad that our figures created flowed perfectly with the rhythm of the bass pumping through our veins. Our puzzle pieces had found their match. We were no longer catastrophically strewn in the world, but peacefully set together as a beautiful work of art.

As our souls combined when we found each other, our hearts danced one last dance. We were one. In that moment, our hearts shut down. We only needed each other.
Been trying to get my writing to sound more poetic, kind of like Allie Condie's writing style (which I absolutely love). Wrote this earlier about someone finding their soul mate
